Second Saturday Serve

Vision: Sharing Christ’s love through regular & simple deeds of service.
We want to meet practical needs that arise inside Redeemer’s body, in our parish, or in our city, and we want to build a habit of service among Redeemer’s members by organizing monthly service opportunities.

Sign up to be placed 1 of 3 different teams headed to serve families touched with disability in our community on Saturday, May 14. Once you complete the form, you’ll be placed on a team and given full instructions and the address for the service opportunity.

You can sign up for a morning shift: 9:00 – 11:30am or an afternoon shift: 1:30 – 4:00pm. These opportunities are good for the whole family!

Two of the teams will visit families where the goal will be primarily making relational connections and finding ways to advocate for the family. We will bring along some food and show Christ’s love through quality time and encouragement. These connections will lead to other, more tangible ways to help in the future.

One of the teams will be helping to widen a bedroom doorway so that a wheelchair can fit through in addition to being an encouraging and joyful presence in the home.

All of the projects will require a humble posture and a desire to learn. Although we want to be a blessing, be prepared to get blessed and also to be challenged. Stepping into the world of those who’ve been touched by disability will alter your perspective.
