Vision: Sharing Christ’s love through regular & simple deeds of service.
We want to meet practical needs that arise inside Redeemer’s body, in our parish, or in our city, and we want to build a habit of service among Redeemer’s members by organizing monthly service opportunities.
When: October 14, 9:00am – 12:00pm
Where: Meet in the Fellowship Hall.
What: Join us for October’s Saturday Serve Day!
Serve days through Redeemer occur in rhythmic cycles. 1) we take care of the church property; 2) we take care of the neighborhoods around the church; 3a) we serve alongside Redeemer members who run ministries or initiatives in our city; 3b) we also strengthen partnerships by serving with ministries not connected to Redeemer who serve the greater Jackson area. And then we repeat the cycle.
This month, we are back to serving in the Broadmoor neighborhood.
There are 4 ways to serve on October 14! You can help with more than one:
1) Cleaning up of trash and tree limbs that have gathered in ditches. We’ll have truck and trailer available. We’ll need gloved hands and servants’ hearts to load the trailer & help get it unloaded too!
2) Assembling care packages for people living in abandoned houses in the neighborhood (care packages will consist of non-perishable snacks, hygiene kits, scripture, a resource guide, Jxn-Hinds Library application).
3) Outreach/delivery of care packages/prayer. The heart behind this effort is to care for Broadmoor neighbors by engaging with the transient population in Broadmoor in a compassionate way. Prayer and compassion can help people take positive next steps. What is your plan? and How can a local church help you get there? are great questions to put change on someone’s radar.
4) Maintaining Abba’s Art & Soil Community Garden.
