Shepherding, Safety, and Sexuality: Parent and Leader Lunch 2019

Each August, we hope to gather parents and children/youth volunteers to engage victories and challenges in caring for the next generation.

This year our topic is Safety and Sexuality:

• What is Redeemer doing to ensure the safety of our Children and Youth during church functions?
• Though we praise God that nothing has been reported, how would Redeemer respond if abuse were to happen under our watch?
• What are some resources I can use to talk about sexuality with my children, and what is age appropriate?
• What do I need to know about the technology and content my children are able access, and what can I do to help set appropriate boundaries for them and our whole family?

Guest Speaker: Dr. John Perritt, Director of Resources for RYM

John Perritt (MDiv RTS ’09 & DMin SBTS ’16) served in youth ministry at Pear Orchard Presbyterian Church for over 12 years. Prior to that, he served in youth ministry at First Presbyterian Church in Hattiesburg, MS. He published Your Days Are Numbered (2016), What Would Judas Do? (2017), and Time Out! The Gift or god of Youth Sports. He has also published articles with The Gospel Coalition and Desiring God. He and his wife, Ashleigh, have five children and live in Ridgeland, MS.

Who: Parents and volunteers in our children/youth ministries.
Children: Nursery provided. Upside Down Preview for k4-5th grade. 6th grade and up may attend with their parents.
Food: Lunch provided.
