What
We were made for connection, and God intended marriage to be the greatest human expression of connection. Yet, we can sometimes feel lonely in our marriages, more like ships passing in the night than intimate allies. This seminar will focus on re-connecting after big or small ruptures that are part of every marriage, with practical strategies for staying connected even in the midst of conflict and challenges.

About Our Speakers
Ed and Emily’s life together has been anything but ordinary. After Ed lost his first wife to cancer, leaving him with four young children to raise, he hired Emily to be their nanny, and then took her off payroll and married her. They began their journey together in Kosciusko, MS where Ed was the senior minister of First Presbyterian Church, then spent almost a decade in Brasov, Romania, leading a church planting team for Mission to the World. Since leaving Romania, they continue to invest in church planting and missions as they work together in leadership development and renewal with pastors, church leaders, church planters and missionaries and their wives. They live in Jackson, Mississippi where they have launched Kingstone Partners, a non-profit ministry designed to serve, strengthen, and support gospel-rooted leaders for the resilience and flourishing of their marriages and ministries.
Together, they have lived the gospel reality that our stories are both broken and beautiful, and they delight in helping couples look to Jesus as they wrestle through this reality in their own lives. Twenty-five years later, life is still complicated, crazy, and yet wonderful, as they continue following Jesus on the winding path of marriage and life in ministry.
They now enjoy the “party of two” (empty nest), which includes lots of travel together, eating whatever they want for dinner, and a lot less laundry. They also enjoy welcoming their four children, their spouses, and their four precious grandchildren into their home and lives.
Ed is a graduate of Columbia Bible College; Reformed Theological Seminary (MDiv); and Westminster Seminary in California (DMin). Emily is a graduate of the University of Mississippi.
