Chris and Josephine Hatch
On the 14, Chris and Josephine Hatch were able to begin traveling to London from Kenya. British Airways cancelled their original flight, so they thanked supporters for praying for their travel plans. They will spend five weeks in London visiting New City Church, connecting with friends, and doing some of their routine work as regional supervisors.
While in Kenya, Chris had opportunities to preach to various congregations. One Sunday he was invited to preach at Community Presbyterian Church, where Josephine attended as a teenager. Chris was also able to speak to 250 high school boys at the Lukenya Boys boarding school. About 25 of these boys stepped forward to learn more about following Christ.
Chris and Josephine were encouraged by meeting with Serge workers and Kenyans in ministry. One of their visits was to Kijabe Hospital, two hours away, where several Serge doctors work. After a tour of the hospital, Chris and Josephine had lunch with a couple they had only been able to meet on Zoom.
In addition to ministry and work, this trip has allowed Josephine’s family to process the loss of her father together. They visited elderly relatives and her father’s grave where they read scripture, shared memories, and prayed together.
