Ellie Honea is a missionary to Tokyo, Japan and is involved creating ministry opportunities to reach the arts community around her as a part of her work in church planting support. She writes, “Like many of you, my 2020 was full of more unexpected things, more unknowns, more grieving, and more growth than my average year. Among other things, I’ve been growing in songwriting, translating, trusting God (building trust muscles I didn’t realize I hadn’t been using before! Ouch), and understanding His heart for us.

I long to head into 2021 not full of fear of what may come, but full of the hope we have in Christ. Pressing into His fullness, that fills and overflows to those around us. May we look back and see 2021 as a year full of His grace and truth: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).
