Hatches, England (UPDATE)
It is with sadness that we pray this week for the Hatches and their extended family after the passing of Josephine’s father, John Gitonga, in Nairobi, Kenya. Mr Gitonga caught pneumonia and passed shortly after in hospital on November 11. Adding to the sadness and difficulty of this situation has been Josephine’s inability to travel from London to be at her father’s funeral due to COVID restrictions. With Jos and Rahel’s wedding due to take place next week, an event already curtailed by the disruption of the pandemic, please be in prayer for Josephine and the family at this incredibly difficult and stressful time.
John 11:25, the verse which concludes Mr Gitonga’s obituary in the Nairobi newspaper, reads: ‘Jesus said: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live even though they die”’. Please pray that Josephine and the Hatches would be comforted by this truth, trusting in the one who gave us the hope of life, by first giving his.
