Ian Deffenbaugh was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from Biola University in southern California, majoring in Biblical and Theological Studies. In his undergraduate program he developed a personal relationship with the Lord and sensed a call to pastoral ministry. He came to RTS in 2022 to pursue the Master of Divinity degree and hopes to serve in RUF ministry one day.
Ian is married to Madeline and they have a dog named Charlie. Ian enjoys pickleball, cooking, NFL football, and working outside. He also enjoys good books, especially fantasy series such as J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings. Ian has a heart for Mormon outreach and youth ministry.
