Wednesday Fellowship Potlucks give us a simple and easy time together to stay connected. \nWhat: Wednesday Fellowship Potluck\nDates: June 19\, July 3 & 17\, August 7\nLocation: Fellowship Hall\nPurpose: To eat together. There might be an announcement or two\, but there’s no program. Our goal is to build relationships and cultivate the rhythm of being together. You can see old friends and make new ones.\nChildcare? This is an event for the whole family\, so no childcare is needed. We can talk together while kids run around. In fact\, your kids may want to eat with other kids!\nStyle: Potluck. Everybody’s bringing something to the table (literally)\, and you can practice generosity as time and resources allow. You’ll bless others whether you spend an hour or two in the kitchen or swing by the store on the way from work. And no one is judging anyone on the quality of their casserole—or their Pringles.\nWhat do I bring? On June 19\, if your LAST NAME starts with…\nA-I: bring a side\nJ-Q: bring a dessert\nR-Z: bring a main dish\nHow much should I bring? Your quantity should feed your people. Bring enough that if everyone coming with you were eating only that thing\, they would have enough to eat. (Though that would be really boring so we’ll share our food with each other…)\nCleanup: Many hands make light work. Let’s all pitch in at the end of the meal to return the room to the condition in which we found it.\nTime: 6:00-7:00pm\nBut here’s the thing: please be as close to 6:00pm as possible so that everyone can partake of what you bring. Exploring these vignettes\, he builds a biblical framework for ministry in the city. \nIn 1900\, 8% of the world’s population lived in cities; today in 2024\, 54% of world’s population lives in cities. And\, after all\, our hope is in a city—the city on the hill—the New Jerusalem. \nWhy: Place matters. And Redeemer is in a particular city\, in a particular parish. \nInterstates\, the internet\, and smart phones tend to uproot our cultural moment from a physical place\, but as we think about the incarnation of Jesus\, our embodied presence\, and love for our neighbor\, we need to contextualize ministry to our neighborhood and our city. \nIt’s a part of our Mission & Vision: \nRedeemer Church\, PCA\, is a multi-ethnic community of Christians committed to glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ and proclaiming the Good News of His Kingdom both in word and deed to the Broadmoor / Broadmeadow (Fondren North) neighborhoods\, the city of Jackson\, and the world. \nWhen: There will be two groups that will meet on 7 Tuesdays from June 18 – July 30. One will be a Lunch-Hour group (12-1pm) and the other will be an Evening group (6:30-7:30pm). \nWho: Anyone who can commit to 5 of the 7 weeks and to read the book prior to the discussion. We want to especially encourage Redeemer’s leadership. There are only 30 spots in each group. \nRSVP: To reserve your seat at the table\, please choose the group you’d like to participate in\, and register. \nTuesday Lunch-Hour Group (12-1pm) \nTuesday Evening Group (6:30-7:30pm) \n  URL:https://redeemerjackson.com/event/a-theology-as-big-as-the-city-book-discussion-begins/ CATEGORIES:Featured,Study ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://fw-redeemerjackson.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/14142124/TheologyAsBigAsTheCity2.jpg END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Chicago:20240613T150000 DTEND;TZID=America/Chicago:20240613T150000 DTSTAMP:20240520T183709Z CREATED:20240426T001040Z LAST-MODIFIED:20240520T183709Z UID:19913-1718290800-1718290800@redeemerjackson.com SUMMARY:Middle School Girls Summer Prayer Group DESCRIPTION:What:Middle School girls\, let’s get together for a prayer group!
