Missions

Redeemer Church is a missional church. “We see that the church’s role is to go and make disciples.  We don’t just send people to the mission field; we ourselves are sent” (Mike Campbell). To assist our church in its missional role in the world, the Session has tasked the Missions Department with the duties of assisting our members to develop and to maintain a strong outward face in all our ministry efforts through equipping, sending, funding and going into the world, across the street and around the world, with the gospel of Jesus.

Our Missions Department is comprised of two committees, the World Missions Committee and the Home Missions Committee.  Included in their ministry responsibilities is educating Redeemer on missions which is usually accomplished through our missions bulletin boards, our mission updates, our mission page on the website, evangelism training classes, and our annual Missions Conference.  This department also assists our members in going into the mission field through networking with our denomination’s mission agencies, Mission to the World (MTW) and Mission to North America (MNA), through prayer and assessment and through ministry development so that our people are serving from passion and giftedness within a team model.  Lastly, the Missions Department is also responsible for maintaining our Faith Promise budget, which funds all of our missionaries serving at home and abroad.  Presently, our Faith Promise pledges stand at $90,915 for April 2011 – March 2012.

WHAT IS FAITH PROMISE?

Faith Promise Giving is the sacrificial “over and above” giving of anticipated income and/or unexpected income that God provides. This is not a substitute for our regular giving and special offerings or committed gifts to the church.

Along with Missions support provided through our regular giving, special gifts and offerings to the General Budget, Faith Promise Giving is an additional way we invest in Missions at Redeemer Church. It enables us to participate on a greater scale in the task of Missions at home and abroad. It encourages us to practice sacrificial giving and to grow in faith. One hundred percent of the money raised through Faith Promise giving is used to support our missionaries. Thus, each member is urged to make a Faith Promise investment.
