Abba’s Hope
Reflecting the hope we have in our Father by loving orphans and foster children in Jackson and around the world. Our desire is to provide Redeemer members with ways to minister to these children through foster care, adoption or international orphan care.
Angel Food Ministries
Angel Food Ministries was founded with the hope of helping struggling families. Starting in Georgia the ministry has now moved out to 35 states. Angel Food provides affordable groceries by partnering with local churches. The “Signature” box has $65.00 worth of food for only $30.00 and provides food for a family of four for a week. Each month a new menu is posted with specialty boxes, meal kits, and more.
Once a month food is delivered to a local distribution site and church volunteers come together to package the “Signature” box here at Redeemer. Those who have ordered pick up at the church on a Saturday morning between 8:30 and 9:00 am. Distribution and pick up offer a fun time of fellowship with the church family and beyond.
Anybody can order Angel Food. There are several ways to order. You can order at the church between Sunday School and Church Service in the gathering area outside the kitchen, order online by going to www.angelfoodministries.com , or call the church office. If you have any questions on how to order or if you’re interested in volunteering call John Hooker at 601-209-4446.
Boy Scouts
The Boy Scouts of America, completing its 100th anniversary year, is a non-profit organization dedicated to enrich the lives of young men through the values of the outdoors. It is for young men ages 11 through 17, and Redeemer is very excited to have our own troop to help build character, encourage personal responsibility and develop personal fitness in our young men.
Redeemer Boyscout Troop 23 typically meet every Monday night from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. in Room 103 at Redeemer. Troop meetings are designed to be lead by scouts with adult guidance and feedback to create a strong sense of ownership in our troop and scouting. No meetings are planned for Monday nights following weekend camping trips or Scout Camp.

Reading Readiness
Our Reading Readiness program is for 8th through 12th grade students who need some one-on-one help to master their required reading level. We long for students who may have struggled educationally in the past to see the value of learning and the opportunities available to them.
Sister Cooks
Sister Cooks, which meets every other Saturday morning at various times in the year, is a ministry designed to bring together seasoned women of God to share their wisdom and gifts on being a godly woman and of homemaking, cooking organizing, service/mercy, goal setting and stewardship. Girls (ages 4-19) and women (ages 20 and older) can get involved by registering to participate in the ministry through the church office.
Sports Ministry
Redeemer continues to develop sports ministries in the community. These activities serve not only as an athletic outlet for youth and adults, but also as a door to building relationships that lead to mentoring opportunities and spiritual development.
Redeemer currently has a vibrant basketball ministry in place. These activities serve not only as an athletic outlet for local youth, but as a door to building relationships that lead to mentoring opportunities and spiritual development. The basketball ministry is held each Tuesday in the Wesley Seminary gymnasium, just half a block east and across the street from Redeemer. Soccer and softball seasons are planned in addition to basketball.
Summer Reading Program
For children ages 3 years through 5th grade, our summer reading program offers great books and a whole lot of fun. Summer reading will meet on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Tutoring Ministry
After school tutoring is available to neighborhood children on Wednesday afternoons at 4 p.m. during the academic year. The tutoring ministry is a way for Redeemer members to involve themselves in the lives of local neighborhood children while meeting practical, real-life needs. If you would like your child to receive tutoring, or if you would like to volunteer, contact the church office at 601-362-9987.
