News from Redeemer Church, PCA

Communion will be observed during both morning worship services Sunday, August 1.  Please prepare your heart to participate in the Lord’s Supper.

Abba’s Hope Dessert: August 4 at 7:00 p.m. in Room 103 for an opportunity to hear from a missionary friend who volunteers in three orphanages in Odessa, Ukraine. She’ll be sharing about her unique work, the needs of the 100,000+ orphans there, and the different ways anyone can be involved in carrying out Christ’s call to care for orphans, ranging from praying for a specific child to long-distance service projects to adoption. Contact Christina Dent, christina.b.dent@gmail.com, if you have questions.

Women’s Ministry Schedule:  Women’s Ministry Committee meeting this Wednesday night at 6:15 in Room 103.  No Women’s Bible study in July.

Staff Schedule: Pastor Mike will begin his doctoral study course work this summer at Covenant Seminary.  He will be in St. Louis August 1-14 taking two classes.  Please pray for his preparation for the classes and for this to be a time of growth for him personally and for Redeemer as this program deals specifically with the “how tos” of fulfilling Redeemer’s vision.  In his absence, Dr. Knox Chamblin will be our guest preacher on August 1, and our own Ron Potter will preach August 8.

Children’s Sunday Schedule:

  • Sunday School Move-Up Day:  Children will go directly to their new Sunday school rooms on August 8, except for the children moving up to the four-year-old class.  They will go to their nursery room and will be escorted to the 4K class by their nursery teachers.
  • Four-Year-Old Worship Move-up:  Four-year-olds who have been attending nursery during worship will be with their parents beginning August 8.
  • Teachers Needed!  We are in need of a new K5 teacher and helper and a 3rd/4th grade teacher starting August 8.  If you are interested in this area of service, please e-mail Phyllis Hurley at hurleyphyllis@yahoo.com, or call her at 601-924-3190.
