About Redeemer Church, PCA

Redeemer Church began regular worship services on November 7, 2004, as a church plant of the Mississippi Valley Presbytery.  However, it has a long history in the sense that it is the result of God’s gracious work through Trinity Presbyterian Church, which had its home at the Redeemer location for over fifty years.

When Trinity had outgrown the facilities on Northside Drive, it elected to move to a new location on Old Canton Road.  This opened a unique opportunity for a portion of the Trinity family to remain at the Northside location in order to continue ministering to the Broadmoor and Broadmeadow neighborhoods.

During the organization period of the church, a search was conducted for a pastor to lead this new congregation.  The Reverend Michael Campbell, from Pinelands Presbyterian Church in Miami, Florida was interviewed and met with the organizing body.  In a unanimous vote, the congregation called Mike, and God led him to accept the call to pastor the people of Redeemer Church.  Mike and his family moved to Jackson in October 2004.

On February 13, 2005, Redeemer became an official “particular church” of the Presbyterian Church in America.  This new church is dedicated to being a multi-ethnic church while remaining true to the Reformed faith.
